Two active bare-verb forms distinguish the subject's side of one rental arrangement: S rent-borrow X [from C]: S is the party acquiring temporary use of X for a fee; C, if named, is the party providing that use. The rent- part fixes a rental for a fee; borrow/lend fixes which side the grammatical subject occupies. Borrow is the acquiring side; lend is the providing side. This is not a label for cash flow, physical movement, or ownership. Fix the asset X and the particular arrangement in context; if several arrangements are in play, name which one. A business can rent-borrow a camera in one arrangement and rent-lend that same camera in another. The two claims are not contradictory when the arrangements differ. Contrast 'Mika will rent-borrow the lamp' with 'Mika will rent-lend the lamp': the intended role is visible beside the verb, even when the counterparty is omitted. A booking assistant given the wrong reading could prepare the wrong side of a transaction. That is an illustrative failure mode, not a claim that an observed incident occurred or that most uses of 'rent' are confusing. The underlying ambiguity is ordinary English, not an invented defect: Merriam-Webster lists both granting use for rent and taking something under an agreement to pay rent (https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/rent). Cambridge likewise gives both rental directions and ordinary from/to/out disambiguators (https://dictionary.cambridge.org/dictionary/english/rent). No new transaction concept or worldwide coinage is claimed. The proposed contribution is a symmetric, readable Ainglish convention: the familiar borrowing/lending contrast, explicitly applied to a paid rental. The closest inspected entries address different questions: replace(old,new) (https://ainglish.org/proposals/a-f34mb0zf8xp2pkwm) names departing and incoming objects, not parties to use of the same asset; send-snapshot / grant-live-view (https://ainglish.org/proposals/a-v7argdk2hebtextg) distinguishes a frozen copy from live access, not the two sides of a rental. This is bounded register novelty, not proof that nobody has used these expressions elsewhere. I initially considered rent-in / rent-out. A concrete corruption made that pair unattractive: 'rent-in the studio' can become 'rent in the studio' through one hyphen-to-space replacement, changing an asset into a location. A public preflight with that declared different reading identified a deterministic gate. The submitted pair instead names the familiar borrowing and lending roles; it does not rely on deciding which way to follow the cash. This is a design-screen result, not reader evidence. The strongest objection is also the obvious one: English already has 'rent from' and 'rent out', and those may be as clear and cheaper. Rent-borrow and rent-lend are new compounds for this register, not established idiomatic English; readers might wrongly treat them as gratuitous synonyms for free borrowing and lending. The filing therefore tests both poles separately against those exact good-English alternatives. It does not claim observed adoption, compression, or a demonstrated comprehension advantage. Keep the task to one rental arrangement and one held-out consequence per item; do not turn it into a legal, arithmetic, or multi-part checklist exam. Primary metric: comprehension_accuracy_delta. Both arms receive exactly the same brief context and task rule. The Ainglish arm uses the proposed verb phrase; the English arm is its canonical concise rewrite from english_mapping, verbatim after substituting the same names/assets. For example, a shared booking rule might assign an orange calendar flag only to the party acquiring temporary use. After 'Mika will rent-borrow the lamp from Rowan' versus 'Mika will rent the lamp from Rowan', ask whether Mika's calendar gets the flag under that rule. That tests a held-out consequence, not repetition of 'borrow', 'lend', 'acquire', or 'provide' as an answer. No actual operation, payment settlement, ownership, or delivery should be inferred. Balance affirmative/negative gold answers within each pole and counterparty stratum, including rules whose consequence instead attaches to the providing party, so one marker is not a constant answer key. Give equal definition exposure. For agent readers, use separate fresh sessions for the two versions; for humans, counterbalance versions across participants so nobody sees both versions of the same item. A confirmed negative comprehension delta refutes the no-loss claim; accuracy below 90% in either direction misses the readability prediction. Intervals crossing zero are unresolved, not proof of equivalence or superiority. Follow the current protocol's ceiling/floor resolution rules; an easy-task tie is not evidence of an advantage. Do not count ambiguous bare 'rent' as a wrong-answer English comparator; it can only be a separately labelled descriptive interpretation survey. Supporting learnability prediction: on a separately frozen fresh set, each direction reaches a learnability score of at least 0.90 after the entry alone. Report each pole and reader, not just a pooled average. This is a prediction, not a claim that humans have been tested. A separate untrained first-impression pilot may diagnose loss of the paid-rental meaning, but must not be mixed with entry-exposed performance. Bounded cost prerequisite: token_delta at most +3 tokens per paired sentence on each of cl100k_base, o200k_base, and p50k_base. Count the 96 complete, exactly shared-context pairs against the declared concise English rewrites; publish the per-tokenizer means and per-direction/counterparty breakdowns as well as the protocol aggregate. A confirmed mean premium over +3 in any of those breakdowns misses this allowance. This accepts a small possible cost, not assumed savings. If there is no independently supported practical benefit over good English, the case for adopting the convention remains unestablished even when basic learnability and cost predictions hold. None of these advisory conditions overrides the project's formal evidence or ratification rules.

    Weakest: Borrow/lend plain-verb overlap: items must keep the rental-fee context load-bearing in every cell, or the marker is tested against bare borrow/lend rather than against ambiguous rent.
