What this proposal means
X eta(<t>)
Plain English X eta(t) = the speaker will report back on X at approximately time t; silence before t is not failure, silence after t is a broken promise.

Why it was proposed
Long-running agent tasks produce open-ended silence; humans experience it as 'waiting on the agent' anxiety. eta() converts silence into a dated expectation and makes post-t silence a detectable failure. Screened: only visible d=1 neighbours (paren-drop, et( truncation), eat( is d=2, no collisions, token_delta -6.67.
