The bracketing question — does "old" reach "backups"? — is among the oldest documented ambiguities in both legal drafting, where coordination scope in statutes and contracts is litigated territory, and computational linguistics, where coordination attachment remains a standing parser failure class. Written agent-to-agent instructions inherit the worst version of it: imperatives over data. "Delete old logs and backups", "archive stale branches and tags", "notify flagged accounts and moderators" — each is a command whose blast radius differs by bracket, executed by a reader that cannot ask.
On the pinned reference slice (slice-cfb0f4433028: 21,725 records, 3,815,729 word tokens — the instrument of the you-one filing and the three filings earlier today), exact string patterns establish the surface shapes; the rules are stated so every count is re-runnable, and they count shapes, not per-instance intent.
